From your first call to the final resolution of your case, we’re here to make the process clear, responsive, and supportive. Here’s what to expect from your first contact with us to the end of your case, and beyond.

Getting Started: Intake

When you reach out to our firm by phone, email, or through our website form, Matthew, our intake specialist, will take a few quick details to connect you with the right attorney. Then, he’ll schedule you for a consultation with an attorney so that you can learn more about our firm and whether we’re a good fit for you.

We know that once you’ve made the decision to talk to an attorney, you don’t want to wait—especially if you’ve been served with notice of a court case or hearing. We ensure that you’re seen promptly so you can get the answers and direction you’re looking for.

Your First Meeting: Initial Consultation

We offer consultations in person, by phone, or by Zoom—whatever works best for you. Because your consultation is a working session—not just a quick intake or sales pitch—we charge a fee for it. We take the time to listen, answer your questions, and provide meaningful guidance tailored to your situation.

Many people use the consultation as the first step in hiring us, but others come simply to understand their options or get clarity about a situation—even if they don’t plan to take legal action right away. Clients consistently tell us that they leave the consultation with more direction and peace of mind. Whatever your goals, we hope that you will, too.

If you decide to move forward, we’ll provide an engagement agreement so you’ll know exactly what to expect and what we’ll need from you. Nothing is hidden or left vague, and we encourage you to ask questions at any point. We want you to feel fully informed and confident at every step, with no surprises. Our role is to make a difficult time easier, never more stressful.

Guidance Through Your Case

At Alane Family Law, we take a resolution-oriented approach. Nobody knows your family better than you do, and the more control you have over the outcome, the more likely you are to feel satisfied with it. That’s why we focus on helping you reach a settlement that works for your family. We explain all possible outcomes clearly, so you can make informed decisions. A respectful, cooperative process not only reduces stress, but also lays the groundwork for healthier relationships in the future.

While settlement is often best, we prepare every case as though it could go to trial. That preparation gives you confidence and ensures that if court becomes necessary, we are ready to advocate for you with skill and determination. Our colleagues recognize us for meticulous preparation and effective courtroom advocacy—strengths that often help us resolve cases outside of court as well.

We make communication a priority. Instead of going through layers of staff, you can reach your attorney directly. If we can’t talk right away, we return your call promptly—usually the same day. You’ll always know what’s happening in your case and never feel left in the dark.

Support After Your Case

Our commitment to you doesn’t end when your case does–it’s a long-term partnership. Whether you need a quick question answered, help understanding how to carry out a court order, or guidance when new issues arise down the road, call us—we’re here as a continuing resource. Families change, circumstances shift, and questions pop up long after the paperwork is signed. When that happens, you can count on us to provide the same clarity, compassion, and advocacy you experienced during your case.
